What is this subway??

You will probably notice that Glasgow city center is quite small and that you can go pretty much wherever you want by just walking. Whatever your university is, you should be able to find shops, supermarkets and activities at reasonable walking distance.

If you live in the West End, you will also enjoy this beautiful part of the city by walking around the nice streets, the green spaces and the liveliest part of the city (Finnieston ahead). You should be able to do everything by foot (or bike if the weather is nice enough!).

But if you are in a hurry or it is heavily raining and windy, you have the option of the iconic orange subway. The subway serves the city center, the West End and a part of the Southside. There are only a limited number of stations and areas of Glasgow that are served by the subway but is is particularly efficient to link the West End to the City Center and to the Southside, three of the most active and lively parts of the city.

Forget about the labyrinths of the subway of Paris, London or New York. Here in Glasgow, there is one single itinerary, it is a loop and it works in both directions! You will probably get confused with the "Inner" and "Outer" circles at first but you will get used to it soon enough. And even if you take the wrong direction, just take a nap and enjoy the ride: the subway making a loop, you will reach your station sooner or later!
