The perfect week-end in Glasgow
Your friends from home are coming to visit you for the week-end? Your parents are coming to check on you and discover your host city for your time abroad? Don't panic, we have the perfect plan to spend the best week-end and entertain them! They will for sure be impress by your knowledge of Glasgow and all the cool places you are about to take them to.
Glasgow is a beautiful city with architectural gems (sometimes hidden), so prepare yourself to walk a lot to explore the city and its treasures! Start with a nice exploration of the city centre and its classics (George Square, Central Station, Buchanan Street...) before you start to make your way to the beautiful West End. Follow the steps of Macintosh who the shaped the city before falling in love with Glasgow's tenements. Check our article with the best places to take beautiful and authentic pictures in Glasgow (here) and bring souvenirs of your little exploration!
After that, to recover for those miles of walking, we suggest you stop in a café or tearoom for a moment of pleasure and cosiness. We recommend two great addresses in Finnieston. The first one is The Steamie (link), a very cool tiny café that serves amazing coffee, tea and home-made pastries (try their divine Sticky Toffee!!).

If you are feeling a bit more fancy, you can go to the Hidden Lane Tearoom (link) for an authentic atmosphere in the amazing Hidden Lane! One of the best place to enjoy an afternoon tea and to relax in this beautiful small house.

If you want to go big and party, stop by Flat 0/1 (link), one of the most atypical and coolest place in Glasgow! This bar/club has free entry, cheap drinks and the atmosphere is absolutely unique. It looks just like a big flat where your friends would throw a huge party and invite the whole city and the furnishing looks like a flea market or your granny's flat. This place is the guarantor of your best nights in Glasgow!

A perfect Sunday morning activity for your perfect week-end is a nice brunch of course! For the traditional experience with a very british decor, check out the Pig and the Butterfly, on Bath Street, an institution in the city (link). As an alternative, you can go to Singl-end (link), a beautiful place with a solid value and nice surprises!

To finish this perfect week-end, we suggest a small walk in the Botanic Gardens, to enjoy the beautiful flora (and to chase squirrels!). On your way out, and if you have a little bit more energy, don't miss Oran Mor (link). This old church has been turned into a bar and a restaurant and transcribes perfectly the atmosphere of Scottish pubs.
